LAÏKA is formed as an occasionally unit in 1998. Members are from various groups in both Kyoto and Osaka area. After the concert in 2000, all the members were back to thier own group where they belong to.

Master Kawano, a representative of LAÏKA, had relocated his base to Québec, CANADA in 2005. Since then, he had operated this small unit to performed for various festivals whether locals or internationals until 2015. He also worked with Cirque du Soleil as a solo player, not to be a BGM player for acrobats. And he gave some courses for both local people and commercial productions.

 

Now he came back to Kyoto again, and LAÏKA will perform only for request basis so far. Workshop also will take place at both studio and Buddhist temple on demand. You can check out details at workshop page.
